This year for Easter my anipals and I are headed into the jungle, as we are all on a diet and there’s no chocolate there! Our Easter bonnets have therefore been built to blend in. Below are those I’ve done so far. Keep popping back to see the latest creations…
Our online Easter Bonnet Parade takes place on Twitter every year, using the hashtag #easterpawrade.
Yes, we’ve chosen this year’s most glamorous bonnets in the Easter Pawrade. A HUGE thank you to our judge, Puddy (@mnummy_maggot) for all her umming and ahhing and endless decision-making. Not to mention mountains of gratitude to all my twitter pals who made the day special. You all looked spectacular! The winners are below, in reverse order. (Click on the pictures to read what the judge thought.)
Hello there anipals and a happy Easter to you all! Yet again, our annual Easter Pawrade is upon us and so are the hats upon our heads. Here they are below. You all look stunning – can you guess who the winners are?
When it comes to having an Easter pawrade, the cranky folks on Twitter no how to enjoy themselves. The day started with @The_Tardis_Tomsshoving encouraging the participants into the Tardis for the journey to China. There were so many inebriated excited anipals all looking forward to strutting their stuff dressed in their hideous exotic Chinese costumes, I felt quite embarrassed proud to be part of the celebrations.
Once on board the Tardis, the celebrations started with a glass of bubbly and a round of applause for the inebriated pilots, Benny and Fancy. Everyone was in the mood for a right good knees up, a jolly day out and before long they were all doing the conga around the pilots bridge, bumping into delicate instruments and pressing any button that was red and said danger.
Half an hour later, amazingly we reached our destination, where everyone staggered out gracefully walked out of the Tardis making a spectacle of themselves displaying their beautiful Easter costumes.
What a wonderful event this years Easter Bonnet Pawrade 2014 was, with dozens of anipals in their ridiculous glorious Easter Bonnets. What imagination went into some of the hats, with little rabbits, chicks, flowers and all sorts of delicious creatures festooning their heads. Congratulations to everyone who entered.
The day was sunny and bright, just the sort of weather for our annual knees up Easter bonnet competition. There were lots of delicious nibbles, glasses of Champagne and great excitement all round, as the contestants eagerly awaited the old soaks judges. The atmosphere was electric, with cameras flashing and rounds of applauds for all. Everyone took their turn staggering down the catwalk as the judges were legless scrutinising every single bonnet and taking bribes care to choose the most colourful and lucrative creatively designed head apparel. They deliberated, cogitated, digested, fell asleep, and at length chose the fifteen semifinalists.
Here they are in no particular order in all their glory.
The task of finding the winner and runners up was now paramount for the judges. They stuffed their faces, took a little more sustenance, settled down, for a snooze, and after what seemed like hours of exhausting decision making, and three bottles of nip port, they nailed the final six.
2014 Easter Bonnet Parade final six.
A big *WELL DONE!* to everyone, the turnout was superb as were the bonnets. A huge thank you too must be given to the judges, when they sober up for their time and effort. Snork! All there is left to say now is, I look forward with despair, to next year for yet another mind boggling display of Easter bonnets. Thank you one and all.
Congratulations to our 2013 Easter Bonnet Parade winner: Jaffa
Jaffa was deemed to have the best Easter bonnet by our meowvellous judges. It was a difficult decision among so many beautiful bonnets, which you can see in the gallery below. Thanks to all who made the effort… and special gratitude to hatmakers Mikey, Mia and Manu. Plus a big thank you to Mr Pie for bringing it all together.
Hope All our pals in hats make you smile this Easter!
